Parents attach enormous importance to the safety of their children in the vehicle – so when they buy a particular car seat for their child, that’s a real sign of trust in the manufacturer. Until recently, however, the existing belt systems in the vehicle have really been put to the test by children’s seats, but RAMSIS now makes it possible to examine the interaction between the vehicle’s belt system and various child seat models.
RAMSIS can be used to make space forecasts for child seats, for example, to check the suitability of the existing belt system for securing the seat and to test the belt routing over the child in the seat. The simulation works in four simple steps: The child’s seat is loaded from the library and positioned in the vehicle, the RAMSIS child model is placed in the seat and the belt routing is then calculated over the seat and over the model.
The RAMSIS ‘Child Seat’ module is a customer-specific platform that can be individually expanded by child seat models and integrated into RAMSIS as required by the user. RAMSIS also has Q dummies for 6 and 10 year-old children in the child seat.
The RAMSIS Child Seat module was developed in cooperation with Daimler and Britax Römer, the child seat manufacturer. The Britax Römer child seat library is approved for the majority of German OEMs. If you have any questions, please contact our sales department!
